The Papillon butterfly is Needles’ defining mark — a small emblem with a surprisingly big backstory. Keizo Shimizu lifted it from Steve McQueen’s tattoo in Papillon, a film built around themes of freedom, resilience and breaking out of confinement. That symbolism stuck, and the butterfly became Needles’ shorthand for individuality and transformation. Here, the Papillon forms the pendant on this Needles necklace, crafted from 18k gold plated sterling silver with a smaller logo at the clasp.
